Sudbury Pet Dog Training Club offers basic obedience training for all breeds of dog from 18 weeks old upwards. The training team attend training courses/lectures so training is as up- to - date as possible. Handlers are taught how to train their dogs from basic commands like come when called, sit, down, stay, to more advanced commands like send away, retrieve and stay while handler is out of sight . All obedience classes are taught responsible dog ownership and care for their dogs.
Obedience training is divided into three different levels depending on the stage you and your dog is at in the training:
Beginners
Beginners is the induction level for obedience training. Here the foundations for good obedience training are laid out by Hilary, teaching the basic commands sit, down, come, wait and many more; as well as guidance on care and responsible dog ownership.
The beginners class is an eight week course ending with an assessment on which further training will be offered. Next intake for begins is on 1st May 2024. Please contact us to book a place.
Intermediate
On passing their Beginners assessment Handlers and dogs can move into the Intermediate class. This class is taught by trainer Chris. Further obedience commands are taught here,on and off lead work,as well as prior basic commands to a higher standard.
The Intermediate class is an eight week course ending with an assessment on which further training will be offered.
Advanced
The Advanced training class is for dogs that have passed the final exam in the Intermediate class. These dogs have reached a high standard of obedience.
Other training includes Preparation for the Good Citizen Dog Scheme up to Gold standard, practicing for displays and events, agility and also previous training is reinforced.
