Welcome to our website
Covid-19 Update 17/1/22 - Classes are up and running.
Please see current rules and class times below.
We continue to take a cautious approach and with the Omicron variant face coverings are currently mandatory in village halls. The following measures remain in place to help ensure the safety of all attending classes.
- Social distancing will be maintained within the hall.
- Good ventilation will be maintained by opening windows and doors, where this can be done safely,
- Attendance at class will be restricted to 1 person with their dog to limit the number of people in the hall,
- Face coverings will be required whilst in the hall,
- Hand sanitiser will be provided at the entrance,
- Handlers are to wait in the car park before their class and wait to be invited in,
- We will operate a one-way system by asking handlers to leave the hall by the side door.
As there is still a level of uncertainty with the covid situation we are also temporarily changing the payment process. For the time being all classes will pay on a weekly basis £3 per week. The weekly fee has gone up slightly due to the increased cost of hiring the hall. This should also reduce the need to have to give change.
New members will need to pay the one off £5 membership fee but will not need to fill in a registration form on their first night. Instead we’d ask that you download this form ‘Registration Form’ and bring it with you to your first session. Alternatively you can take a form away on the first night and return it the following week.
Class start times:
- Puppies - 6.40
- Intake 1 - 7.15
- Intermediate - 7.50
- Top Class 1 - 8.30
- Top Class 2 - 9.15
The next date for new begginers intake is 19th January.
It's been good to see many old faces again and we very much look forward to welcoming new and existing members back.
The next Sunday Dog Walk will be on 6th February starting from the Kingfisher Leisure Centre at 10.15am.
We've recently added a new page of training tips which you can access here, tips for training your pup.
We train every Wednesday evening at Great Waldingfield Village Hall.
We offer three levels of Training (Beginners through to Advanced) plus puppy socialization, and run the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme.
Next intake for beginners session starts 10th November 2021.
Puppy socialization sessions are run on a rolling programme and we welcome puppies up to 18 weeks old once they are vacinated. After 18 weeks of age they are able to join the next intake session.
Please contact us to book a place.
See classes section for more details.
Sudbury Pet Dog Training Club was first established in 1962 and since then has seen many dogs come and go and many changes in training methods.
Dogs of all ages and size together with their handlers go through proven training exercises and techniques using reward based learning methods. Not harsh, negative dog training methods. We teach you these techniques so you can train you dog.
After dogs have completed training courses with us, we hope that they will be well socialised, well balanced and well behaved.
In turn, owners will hopefully have a dog they can be confident will interact with people and other dogs, they will know what their responsibilities are to their pet and most of all they will have a dog who is healthy, happy and who they can control properly and be proud of.
